Pakistan & Saudi Arabia have once again reinforced their strategic partnership with Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Aamer Raza meeting his Saudi counterpart General Fayyadh Bin Hameed Al-Rowaily in Riyadh.
The discussions focused on expanding defence cooperation enhancing interoperability & taking forward the commitments under the Mutual Defence Agreement signed earlier this year.
Both sides emphasised deepening fraternal ties & working together for peace stability & self reliance in the region.
The relationship between the 2 nations has always been multi dimensional combining defence economic collaboration & shared Islamic values.
Riyadh has consistently supported Islamabad with financial assistance & energy supplies while defence cooperation remains a central pillar of this partnership.
During the meeting progress on existing defence projects was reviewed and new avenues for joint ventures in emerging technologies were explored in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
A session of the Pakistan-KSA Bilateral Defence Industrial Forum also took place highlighting Pakistan’s ongoing support for strengthening the Royal Saudi Defence Forces.
Saudi officials expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s contributions to counterterrorism & regional peace. The discussions reaffirmed the commitment to joint deterrence & collective security.
This dialogue follows the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement in September by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif & Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman under which an attack on either country will be treated as an attack on both signalling a stronger regional security posture.
