Russia has expressed concern over a series of anti Russian articles published by the English language Pakistani newspaper The Frontier Post, calling its editorial stance biased and influenced by foreign interests. Moscow stated that the newspaper, despite being based in Pakistan, operates largely under a Washington centered news service that consistently promotes Western narratives hostile to Russia. Russian officials emphasized that the publication’s coverage lacks balance, as it routinely portrays Russia in a negative light while ignoring significant diplomatic events such as the Moscow Format consultations on Afghanistan, where Pakistan played an active and constructive role. The omission, according to Moscow, demonstrates the outlet’s disregard for both Russian and Pakistani efforts toward regional stability. Russia reaffirmed its respect for freedom of the press but stressed that media responsibility is equally important. Officials urged Pakistani media to verify information and avoid promoting narratives designed to undermine relations between Moscow and Islamabad. Russia noted that despite unprecedented Western sanctions, its economy continues to grow steadily, highlighting a 4.1% GDP increase in 2024 and record gains in manufacturing. Moscow concluded by warning against the spread of misinformation, saying that responsible journalism is vital to protecting the integrity of Russia Pakistan relations and countering externally driven propaganda.
