Apple Original Films has announced that F1 The Movie, the highest-grossing sports film in history starring Brad Pitt, will make its global streaming debut on Apple TV on Friday, 12th December 2025, following its record-breaking theatrical success.
Directed by Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, the film has become a global phenomenon since its theatrical release on June 27, 2025, amassing over $629 million worldwide.
It not only stands as the biggest sports film ever made but also the year’s highest-grossing original feature & Brad Pitt’s most successful film to date.
The movie earned an A CinemaScore & boasts a 97% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes, earning widespread praise for its realism and technical brilliance hailed as the most authentic Formula 1 portrayal ever put on screen.
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said it was thrilling to see audiences around the world embrace F1 The Movie in theaters, adding that the film’s upcoming global streaming release will allow fans everywhere to experience the heart pounding action & passion that defines Formula 1.
The film follows Sonny Hayes, a gifted F1 driver from the 1990s whose career was cut short by a devastating crash. Decades later, he’s drawn back into the high octane world by former teammate Ruben Cervantes, who needs Hayes experience to save his struggling Formula 1 team.
Alongside Joshua Pearce, a young & ambitious rookie, Hayes faces not only his competitors but also his past discovering that redemption, like racing is never a solo pursuit.
Shot during real Grand Prix weekends, the film’s production team including 7 time F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton as producer captured authentic race footage against the backdrop of live Formula 1 events.
