A new pop-up gallery has opened in a bid to make art "more accessible for all".
Artwey Gallery, in St Thomas Street in Weymouth, is open until February.
It is a collaboration between DJ Property and not-for-profit community interest company Artwey.
Artwey said the gallery was "not just a place to view art" but also for enthusiasts of all ages to get involved.
The company has traditionally showcased members' artwork in cafes and restaurants.
Through the new dedicated space, it can provide an ongoing programme of exhibitions, workshops and community events.
Artwey said the hub would complement its "established large group exhibitions" during the summer and winter, as well as its biennial Open for Art event in May.
Director Keith Holdaway said its aim was to make art "more accessible for all".
Weymouth abstract artist Nicki Greenham, who has connected with other artists through Artwey, said: "What Artwey are managing to do with this venue is say, 'we have a space, you don't have to have a huge budget, you can walk in, we can support you'."
She is collaborating with three other artists to put on an exhibition, Beyond the Shores, at the new venue on 18 November.
"We've been able to work together to bring paintings of the coast, everyday life, still life, and what is like living in the area near the coast," she said.
The gallery is open for visitors Monday to Saturday.
