Pakistan Security Forces have killed a key militant commander during an intelligence-based operation in Qila Saifullah district of Balochistan, according to security sources. The individual was identified as Adil Shah, also known by the alias Darvesh, who was reportedly affiliated with the militant group Fitna al-Khawarij since December 2020.
According to the sources, Adil Shah had been overseeing the group’s financial affairs since 2024. He was also allegedly involved in arranging accommodation for militants from outside the region in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban districts.
Security sources further alleged that the militant commander was involved in attacks targeting security forces and kidnappings for ransom during 2022 and 2023. They said 19 cases had been registered against him in anti-terrorism courts, while a bounty of 2.5 million rupees had been announced for information leading to his capture.
The operation was conducted by Pakistan Security Forces as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna Three.
The development comes amid continuing security challenges in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where authorities have reported militant activity and cross-border security concerns in recent years.
