Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says a massive Russian missile and drone assault has killed at least 25 people and injured around 100 others across Ukraine, marking another deadly escalation in the ongoing war.

The attacks reportedly struck several cities and targeted civilian infrastructure, with residential buildings among the areas affected. Emergency crews have been working at damaged sites, searching through debris and responding to those injured.

The scale of the assault has caused fresh concern among Ukrainian authorities, as communities continue to face the threat of long-range missile and drone attacks.

Zelensky has condemned the bombardment and renewed his appeal for stronger international support. He is also calling for additional air defence systems to help protect Ukrainian cities from future attacks.

The latest strikes come as diplomatic efforts continue to face major obstacles. Despite repeated calls for a lasting ceasefire, fighting and attacks remain a daily threat for civilians across Ukraine.

The reported casualties highlight the continuing human cost of the conflict, with homes damaged, infrastructure targeted and emergency services repeatedly pushed into action.

As Ukraine seeks greater international assistance, the latest assault has once again placed civilian protection and air defence at the centre of the country’s demands, while hopes for a durable ceasefire remain uncertain.
