Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has met with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, Commander-in-Chief General Ahmad Vahidi in Tehran, with the two sides discussing the rapidly changing situation in the Middle East.
The meeting took place during Naqvi’s official visit to Iran, where he has been holding talks with senior Iranian officials and security leaders.
According to Pakistan’s Interior Ministry, the discussions focused on regional developments and the broader security situation. The meeting comes as tensions remain high across the Middle East, with diplomatic efforts continuing alongside military developments.
Naqvi had earlier met Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, with both sides reviewing bilateral relations, cooperation between their interior ministries and the latest regional situation.
Iranian officials have also acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to support regional peace and stability. Tehran has expressed appreciation for Islamabad’s continued diplomatic engagement at a time of heightened tensions.
Naqvi’s visit comes as Pakistan remains involved in diplomatic efforts surrounding the wider Middle East crisis, including contacts aimed at reducing tensions between the United States and Iran.
With tensions continuing and diplomatic contacts underway, Islamabad says it remains focused on dialogue, regional stability and stronger cooperation with neighbouring Iran.
