Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack targeting a mosque and police compound in Kohat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
In a statement, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry expressed condolences to the Government and people of Pakistan, as well as to the families and loved ones of those killed in the attack.
The ministry also wished a speedy recovery to those injured, while stressing Azerbaijan’s solidarity with Pakistan in the fight against terrorism in all its forms.
The statement follows the deadly attack in Kohat, where a mosque and police compound were targeted during Friday prayers.
The assault caused heavy casualties, with the death toll later reported to have risen to at least 31 people and more than 100 others injured.
Police personnel and their families were among those gathered at the compound when the attack took place.
Azerbaijan’s message comes as Pakistan continues to deal with militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where security forces and civilian locations have faced repeated attacks.
The statement highlights the close ties between Islamabad and Baku, with Azerbaijan reaffirming its support for Pakistan and its opposition to terrorism.
The investigation into the Kohat attack is continuing as authorities work to determine those responsible.
