Pakistan has reaffirmed its commitment to Saudi Arabia’s security, with the country’s military spokesman saying Islamabad will go “to any extent” to defend the Kingdom against aggression.
Director General Inter-Services Public Relations, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia both diplomatically and physically. He said the commitment also includes protecting the two holy sites in Makkah and Madinah.
The remarks come as Saudi Arabia faces an escalation in missile and drone attacks by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement. Saudi authorities have reported intercepting drones near sensitive areas, including south of Makkah.
Pakistan’s military spokesman described the commitment to Saudi security as unconditional, saying the two countries share what he called a deep-rooted and longstanding relationship.
He also said Pakistan’s political and military leadership remains in continuous contact with Saudi leaders as regional tensions continue to rise.
At the same time, General Chaudhry said Islamabad is working with regional countries and other partners to seek a negotiated and peaceful outcome to the wider crisis.
The statement highlights Pakistan’s longstanding security relationship with Saudi Arabia, while the region faces continued military tensions and threats to critical infrastructure and shipping routes.
For now, Islamabad says it remains prepared to support Saudi Arabia as the security situation across the Middle East continues to evolve.
