Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, beginning a three-day visit focused on regional cooperation and Pakistan’s position on key global issues.
Sharif is scheduled to address the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, where he will present Islamabad’s views on regional security, economic cooperation and major international developments.
The prime minister will also participate in SCO Plus discussions, bringing together leaders and representatives from a wider group of participating countries.
During the visit, Sharif is expected to hold a series of bilateral meetings with other leaders, with discussions focusing on trade, investment, economic partnerships and regional connectivity.
He will also attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games as a special guest, highlighting cultural and diplomatic ties between participating nations.
A key meeting is expected with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov, where the two leaders will review bilateral relations and explore opportunities to strengthen cooperation.
The talks are likely to cover mutual economic interests, connectivity and areas where Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan can expand their partnership.
The visit comes as Islamabad seeks to deepen engagement with regional partners through multilateral platforms such as the SCO.
Pakistan says stronger regional cooperation can help promote economic development, stability and greater connectivity across Central and South Asia.
Sharif’s three-day visit is therefore expected to combine diplomacy, economic engagement and regional cooperation as Pakistan strengthens its ties with fellow SCO members.
