Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has warned of a “decisive response” to any further US aggression, signaling that Tehran is prepared to retaliate if Washington escalates pressure despite ongoing ceasefire talks.
Pezeshkian issued the warning before departing for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, as diplomatic efforts between Iran and the United States remain stalled.
The Iranian president said Tehran would not accept continued sanctions and military pressure while negotiations for peace are underway.
He called on the Trump administration to show mutual respect and take reciprocal steps if Washington wants the diplomatic process to continue.
Iran has repeatedly criticized the latest US economic measures, arguing that new sanctions undermine the fragile memorandum of understanding and make meaningful negotiations increasingly difficult.
