U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that Iran could pose a devastating threat to Israel if Tehran were ever to acquire a nuclear weapon, as Washington continues pushing for a deal to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.

Trump has repeatedly said that stopping Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon remains the central objective of U.S. policy. In recent remarks, he insisted that Iran “cannot have a nuclear weapon” and that Washington would continue applying pressure to prevent it.

The warning comes amid a prolonged confrontation between the United States and Iran, with military strikes, economic pressure and disputes over the Strait of Hormuz keeping tensions at a high level.

Washington says Iran’s nuclear programme must be permanently restricted, while Tehran has rejected U.S. pressure and accused Washington of using military and economic coercion.

Diplomatic efforts have also stalled after an interim agreement failed to produce a wider settlement.

Trump’s latest warnings suggest that the nuclear issue remains a key red line for the United States.

With tensions still rising across the region, the dispute over Iran’s nuclear capabilities could determine whether Washington and Tehran return to negotiations—or move toward another escalation.
