nternationally renowned Turkish singer Sami Yusuf is visiting Karachi, adding a major musical highlight to one of the biggest celebrations in Pakistan’s history.
The celebrated artist is likely to perform at Salaam Karachi, a grand 15 day Independence and Defence celebration being hosted by the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation from August 24 to September 7, 2026.
The festival is set to bring together patriotism, culture, entertainment and the unmatched spirit of Karachi through a spectacular lineup of large scale public events. Cultural activities, cycle rallies, seminars, entertainment programmes and many other attractions are planned for people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab is inviting citizens from across the city to take part, describing Salaam Karachi as a special tribute to the people of Pakistan and the country’s brave armed forces.
The celebration aims to showcase Pakistan’s resilience, unity and patriotic spirit, while highlighting Karachi’s vibrant energy and its ability to bring millions together.
From the spirit of Independence Day to the pride of Defence Day, Salaam Karachi is set to transform the city into a stage for 15 unforgettable days of patriotism, music, culture and unity.
