On Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day, German Consul General Thomas E. Schultze has extended his warmest wishes to the people of Pakistan, highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Germany.
Schultze described Independence Day as an opportunity to celebrate Pakistan’s journey while recognising the resilience, ambition and diversity of its people.
This year also marks a major milestone, with Pakistan and Germany set to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations on October 15.
Schultze said the relationship between the two countries is built on three key principles: reliability, trust and sustainability.
He also highlighted the importance of economic cooperation, noting that Germany is Pakistan’s largest trading partner within the European Union and a major destination for Pakistani exports.
The German diplomat also praised the role of Pakistani women, saying they are leading, educating, building businesses and creating opportunities across the country.
Schultze, who has been based in Pakistan since last year, also praised the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people.
He expressed his hope for stronger bilateral ties in the years ahead, ending with a message of friendship and goodwill between Pakistan and Germany.
