Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has described the Makkah Accord as a reflection of what he called the success of Pakistan’s foreign policy.

Speaking on August 7, Tarar said the agreement represented an important development for Pakistan and its relations with key partners in the region.

The comments came as Pakistan continues to strengthen diplomatic and strategic ties with Saudi Arabia and other regional allies.

Tarar said Islamabad’s foreign policy was focused on protecting Pakistan’s national interests while expanding cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries.

He also presented the accord as a sign of closer cooperation among Muslim nations, highlighting Pakistan’s role in promoting dialogue, regional stability and stronger ties across the Muslim world.

The agreement comes against a backdrop of growing diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and its regional partners, with Islamabad seeking to expand cooperation beyond traditional political relations.

For the Pakistani government, the development is being portrayed as a diplomatic gain and evidence of a more active foreign policy.

However, the longer-term significance of the accord will depend on how effectively the commitments translate into practical cooperation between the countries involved.

Tarar said Pakistan would continue to pursue a foreign policy centered on national interests, regional stability and closer cooperation with its international partners.
