The Houthi movement in Yemen has released footage it says shows missile and drone attacks targeting positions around the Red Sea port city of Mocha.
The video shows multiple missile and drone launches, but the location and timing of the footage could not be independently verified.
Yemeni military officials say the attacks on August 9 killed seven people, including four military personnel and three civilians, while around 30 others were injured. Air defenses reportedly intercepted and destroyed 11 Houthi drones during the assault.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree said the operation targeted Saudi troop concentrations and weapons depots, according to Houthi-affiliated media.
The renewed attacks mark a significant escalation around Mocha, a strategically important port on Yemen's western coast near the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandeb shipping route.
The assault also comes amid wider regional tensions, with the Houthis claiming attacks against targets linked to Saudi Arabia and other parties involved in the conflict.
Yemeni authorities have increased security around key military and civilian facilities as concerns grow over further attacks.
With the Red Sea remaining a crucial international shipping corridor, renewed violence around Mocha could add to existing concerns over maritime security, regional stability and global trade.
For now, the release of the footage provides a glimpse into the Houthi operation, while the full circumstances and extent of the attacks continue to be assessed
