=Pakistan’s security forces have killed 10 India backed terrorists in intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to the military’s media wing, ISPR.
The operations were carried out following intelligence reports about the presence and movement of militants in the province. Security forces engaged the suspected hideouts, leading to intense exchanges of fire in which the 10 terrorists were killed.
ISPR says the militants were linked to what Pakistan describes as India-sponsored terrorist networks and were allegedly involved in attacks against security forces, law-enforcement personnel and civilians.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants following the operations, while sanitisation efforts are continuing in the areas to ensure that no other terrorists remain in hiding.
The latest operations come amid a sustained counterterrorism campaign across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where militant attacks and cross-border security concerns have remained a major challenge for Pakistan.
The military says security forces and law-enforcement agencies will continue intelligence-based operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework, with the stated objective of eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism and dismantling militant networks.
The latest action also comes as Pakistan continues to face security threats along its border with Afghanistan, with Islamabad repeatedly calling on Kabul to prevent militant groups from using Afghan territory to launch attacks inside Pakistan.
Security officials say clearance operations will continue until the areas are fully secured.
