Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah on a visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Upon his arrival, the premier and the accompanying Pakistani delegation were warmly received by Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Mecca, along with Saudi Agriculture Minister Abdulrahman Al-Fadley, Pakistan's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq, and senior diplomatic officials.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will hold a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, where the two sides are expected to exchange views on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations and partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, along with a discussion on the regional situation.
The Prime Minister will also perform Umrah during his stay in the Kingdom and pay his respects at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina Munawwarah, continuing a tradition observed by Pakistani leaders during official visits to Saudi Arabia. The visit is expected to further cement the deep religious and cultural ties between the two nations, alongside the diplomatic agenda.
He is being accompanied on the visit by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, underlining the significance Islamabad has attached to the trip. Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif and Attaullah Tarar, along with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi, are also part of the delegation accompanying the premier to Jeddah.
