Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, has released footage it claims shows missiles being launched toward Jordan's Prince Hassan Air Base following recent U.S. military strikes on Iranian targets.
According to the IRGC, the operation was carried out in response to U.S. attacks on Iranian coastal sites and communications infrastructure, describing it as part of Iran's military retaliation.
The IRGC also announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and claimed it had targeted American military facilities in Jordan.
Jordan's military confirmed that three missiles launched from Iranian territory landed inside the kingdom, but said there were no injuries or significant damage reported.
Meanwhile, the United States said its earlier strikes were conducted in response to an attack on a commercial vessel operating in the Strait of Hormuz.
The claims made by Iran regarding the missile strike and the footage released by the IRGC could not be independently verified.
The latest exchange has further heightened tensions across the Middle East, with regional governments urging restraint and calling for renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent a wider conflict.
As military activity and political rhetoric continue to intensify, the international community remains closely focused on efforts to reduce tensions and avoid further escalation.
