The president also promised relief for farmers, saying fertilizer prices would soon fall back to levels seen just four months ago. The pledge comes as agricultural producers across Wisconsin and other farming states face rising costs that are squeezing profit margins and creating uncertainty ahead of the harvest season.
According to recent figures, fertilizer prices have surged by around forty percent, while the national average price of gasoline remains above four dollars per gallon. Those increases are adding to financial strain in rural communities, where fuel and fertilizer are essential for daily operations.
With the midterm elections approaching, economic pressures are becoming a key political issue, as both parties compete for support in battleground states where farmers and rural voters could play a decisive role in shaping the outcome.
