Political tensions erupted in Turkey as thousands of supporters of ousted CHP leader Ozgur Ozel marched through Ankara toward the Turkish parliament following dramatic clashes with police.
The protests began after Turkish authorities reportedly stormed the headquarters of the main opposition CHP party and forcibly removed opposition members from the building.
Videos from the scene showed chaotic moments as protesters pushed through police barricades while security forces attempted to block crowds moving toward parliament.
During the demonstrations, Ozgur Ozel addressed supporters from the top of a water cannon vehicle and later continued speaking from a bus near the parliament building, calling on people to defend democracy and resist what he described as political interference.

The political crisis intensified after a Turkish court removed Ozel as head of the CHP party and reinstated former chairman Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
Ozel strongly condemned the court’s decision, describing it as a “judicial coup” aimed at weakening the opposition ahead of future political battles in Turkey.
