Pakistan has once again been highlighted as a key partner in regional security, with the Chief of United States Central Command describing Islamabad as a critical counterterrorism partner in efforts against ISIS-Khorasan.
Speaking before the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, the CENTCOM leadership emphasized that strong military-to-military cooperation between the United States and Pakistan has led to measurable progress against high-value militant targets linked to attacks on American and regional interests.
Officials noted that despite sustained counterterrorism operations, threats from ISIS and Al-Qaeda-linked groups continue to persist, particularly from areas in and around Afghanistan.
