SpaceX has successfully launched its Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Dragon on a resupply mission to the International Space Station.


The launch took place from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, as the mission delivered nearly 6,500 pounds of scientific experiments, equipment, and supplies for astronauts aboard the ISS.


The cargo includes research materials, food, station hardware, and technology experiments designed to support ongoing scientific work in orbit.


Shortly after liftoff, the Falcon 9’s first-stage booster separated successfully and returned to Earth, making a controlled vertical landing back at Cape Canaveral.


The dramatic landing once again demonstrated SpaceX’s reusable rocket technology, which has become a major part of modern commercial spaceflight operations.


Meanwhile, the Dragon spacecraft continued its journey into orbit following successful deployment from the rocket.


According to mission officials, the capsule is expected to autonomously dock with the International Space Station on May 17.


NASA and SpaceX say the mission plays an important role in maintaining long-term operations aboard the ISS while supporting scientific research conducted in microgravity.


The successful launch also highlights the continued partnership between NASA and SpaceX as commercial space missions become increasingly central to international space operations.
