US President Donald Trump says American representatives will arrive in Islamabad tomorrow evening for critical talks with Iran, as efforts intensify to end the ongoing conflict.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump confirmed that a US delegation, including special envoy Steve Witkoff, is heading to Pakistan, with negotiations expected to begin Tuesday.
The development marks a fresh push to revive diplomacy after earlier talks in Islamabad failed to produce a breakthrough, despite more than 20 hours of negotiations between the two sides.
However, Trump paired the diplomatic outreach with a stark warning, saying the United States is offering what he called a “fair and reasonable deal.”
He warned that if Iran rejects the proposal, Washington could launch major strikes targeting key infrastructure, including power plants and bridges.
The renewed talks come amid rising tensions in the region, with Iran maintaining pressure in the Strait of Hormuz and refusing to scale back its nuclear activities.
Pakistan is once again playing a central role as mediator, hosting high-level negotiations aimed at securing a ceasefire and preventing further escalation in the Middle East conflict.
