Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Saudi Arabia, marking the start of a three-nation diplomatic tour that will also include Qatar and Türkiye, as Pakistan steps up engagement amid rising regional tensions. According to officials, the visit will focus on strengthening bilateral ties, expanding economic cooperation, and holding consultations on evolving security developments in the Middle East, including the ongoing US-Iran crisis.

The prime minister is expected to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other senior leadership to discuss investment, energy cooperation, and regional stability. Pakistan’s Foreign Office says the trip reflects Islamabad’s active diplomatic role at a time when global attention is focused on shifting alliances and conflict de-escalation efforts.

The tour comes as Pakistan continues to position itself as a key mediator in international discussions, while also seeking stronger economic partnerships with Gulf countries and Türkiye amid broader geopolitical uncertainty.
