U.S. President Donald Trump has praised Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him “fantastic” and saying he is doing a “great job” in facilitating ongoing Iran-related negotiations. Trump said Munir’s involvement is increasing the chances that the next round of U.S.–Iran talks could again take place in Pakistan, highlighting Islamabad’s growing role as a mediator in the crisis.

The comments come as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent further escalation in the Middle East, with Pakistan helping facilitate communication between Washington and Tehran after earlier rounds of talks ended without a breakthrough.

Trump also suggested that renewed negotiations could resume within days, depending on progress in backchannel discussions, while tensions remain high over key issues including maritime security and the Strait of Hormuz.

Analysts say Pakistan’s role has become increasingly central in the diplomatic track, with both sides reportedly viewing Islamabad as a neutral and trusted venue for sensitive dialogue amid ongoing regional instability.
