Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has firmly dismissed reports suggesting that he is being considered for the position of International Cricket Council chairman, calling the speculation baseless and misleading. Speaking to reporters, Naqvi clarified that there is “nothing like that” and stressed that his full attention remains on his current responsibilities in Pakistan cricket and governance roles.

The rumours had been circulating widely on social media and some online platforms, linking him to a possible future leadership role at the ICC due to his involvement in regional cricket administration, including his position in the Asian Cricket Council. However, Naqvi rejected these claims outright, saying no such discussions or processes are taking place regarding his appointment.

He also urged media and the public to avoid spreading unverified information, emphasizing that attention should remain on real cricketing and administrative challenges rather than speculation. The clarification comes at a time when Pakistan cricket is under scrutiny for performance inconsistencies and ongoing structural reforms within the board.
