The idea that the Middle East conflict hinges on advanced tech or massive weaponry is a misconception. This isn't a battle won by technology, big bombs, or financial resources; it's a test of resilience. If it were a tech war, Iran would've been neutralized already. However, it's a war of nerves, and Iran, hardened by decades of conflict, with a population mentally prepared for sacrifice, is a formidable opponent.
What missteps is Donald Trump making?
Donald Trump is trying to win this conflict with military force and financial leverage, which is hurting America and its allies more than Iran. This approach fuels fear and economic damage for Americans and his friends. Meanwhile, Iran, historically weaker economically but strategically savvy, isn't suffering significant losses and is damaging larger economies. After the conflict ends, Iran will be in the same position, having lost only a few thousand lives. However, America's allies, particularly in the Gulf, will face setbacks, potentially taking years to rebuild trust. Therefore, Trump needs to recognize that power, wealth, and technology alone won't secure victory.
What should Donald Trump do?
Iran is unlikely to concede unless its demands are met, which is improbable because Iran sees this as a crucial moment. Simply withdrawing isn't enough; America needs a strategic withdrawal that forces Iran to negotiate.
How?
America should propose through the United Nations a one month halt to attacks. During this period, both sides would present their conditions to a group comprised of leaders from China, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Britain, France, America, Iran, Lebanon, and Israel. This team would assess both Iran's conditions and America's demands, aiming for a consensus. Any attacks during this time would result in sanctions.
If no agreement is reached within the month, countries potentially affected by the conflict, in the meantime should establish alternative security and economic arrangements. Ideally, the conflict would end. If not, the world will have prepared itself.
Where does the United Arab Emirates stand?
Although the United Arab Emirates has an unsafe place after the attacks by Iran, and every resident there is trying to leave before the situation gets worse, but as of March 16, 2026, when this piece is being written, the United Arab Emirates is still one of the safest places in the world to live. And the more interesting thing is that among those leaving the UAE are citizens of UK, Europe, Russia and Asian countries whose own countries have dozens of people killed or robbed on a daily basis. At least nothing like this happens in the UAE and even today your life is more secure than that of any other person from your own country. As for missile attacks, they occur in a specific area and are also 99% unsuccessful or people are saved in advance, even today, living in the UAE is better than any other country in the world and the price of property also seems to fall only temporarily and there is more propaganda in it. Think, are you more secure in the roads, markets and homes of your country than in Dubai, or are your jobs and businesses better than in Dubai? Absolutely not and that is why you came to Dubai and settled and this is the same thing that the rulers of the Emirates have to explain to their people and assure them that they are still safer in Dubai than any other country in the world, where there are no wolves who steal honors, no mafias who kill and massacre, no incompetent drivers who trample on others on the roads, and no thieves who adulterate food items. During all this time, the Emirates has given you a lot, it has given your families a better future and standard of living, now it is your duty to return all this to the Emirates only by showing loyalty that you do not fear, do not panic and just wait for the time to pass in peace.
