Addressing the gathering Shehbaz described his participation as an honour and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to pursuing lasting peace in the Middle East calling for an end to violations of the Gaza ceasefire as a prerequisite for sustainable stability. U.S. President Trump used the event to highlight financial pledges for Gaza’s reconstruction saying contributing nations have raised billions of dollars to support relief efforts and that the United States itself will provide additional funding. He also singled out Shehbaz and Pakistan’s military leadership praising their roles in international peace initiatives. On the sidelines of the meeting Shehbaz held cordial discussions with several global leaders including counterparts from Bahrain Azerbaijan Uzbekistan Kazakhstan and Indonesia as part of Pakistan’s broader diplomatic engagement on issues of regional stability and cooperation. Pakistan’s participation in the Board of Peace reflects its growing international diplomatic profile and support for efforts aimed at ending conflict and rebuilding communities affected by prolonged violence. Critics of the initiative say the Board could operate outside established multilateral structures like the United Nations and that some major global powers have chosen not to participate but its supporters view it as a new vehicle for addressing protracted conflicts.
