Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that Islamabad will not hesitate to carry out fresh strikes inside Afghanistan if authorities in Kabul fail to guarantee peace. He said continued militant attacks inside Pakistan leave the government with limited options. The minister accused hostile elements of waging a proxy campaign against Pakistan claiming that banned groups are operating from Afghan territory. He stressed that Islamabad expects Kabul to take decisive action against outfits targeting Pakistan. Referring to past cross-border operations he said military options remain on the table if threats persist. According to him any infrastructure used to plan or launch attacks against Pakistan could be targeted again if necessary. He also warned that broader regional tensions including friction with India continue to complicate the security landscape. Diplomatic channels he noted remain limited amid rising mistrust. Pakistan maintains that it prefers peace and stability in the region. However officials say national security will remain the top priority if credible guarantees are not provided by Kabul. Security analysts say sustained cross-border instability risks further escalation if communication gaps persist. For now Islamabad’s message is clear: peace is preferred but force remains an option if threats continue.
