Pakistan’s security forces have killed 24 India‑backed terrorists in two separate counter terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the military’s media wing the Inter Services Public Relations said Friday.
The operations targeted militant hideouts in the Orakzai and Khyber districts following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists linked to cross border networks. Security forces faced heavy resistance during the missions leading to intense encounters before the hideouts were successfully cleared.
The ISPR confirmed that weapons and ammunition were recovered at both sites. Officials said the operations were part of a broader effort to dismantle terrorist networks involved in attacks and destabilizing activities in the region. Civilians in the affected areas were reported safe as troops continued sanitization operations to ensure no militants remained.
The military emphasized that such operations are ongoing aimed at protecting lives maintaining security and eliminating threats posed by external backed militants. Authorities praised the bravery of troops and reiterated their commitment to ensuring peace and stability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This operation follows a series of similar missions in recent months highlighting Pakistan’s intensified focus on counter terrorism and its resolve to neutralize networks threatening national security.
