In a major move to tighten international travel controls Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced strict new measures at the country’s airports. Passengers attempting to travel abroad with incomplete unverified or suspicious documents will now be stopped from boarding flights.
The announcement was made during the interior minister’s visit to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi where he reviewed immigration and security arrangements. Mohsin Naqvi said the decision aims to curb illegal immigration human trafficking and document fraud which have damaged Pakistan’s reputation overseas.
According to officials several cases have recently surfaced in which passengers including Pakistani and foreign nationals attempted to travel using fake visas forged passports or improper paperwork. The new policy enforces zero tolerance for such practices.
The interior minister made it clear that no passenger with incomplete or unverified documents will be allowed to travel under any circumstances. However he reassured the public that genuine travelers with valid and verified documents will not face any difficulty at airports.
Authorities say the crackdown is especially important amid growing concerns from foreign countries particularly in the Gulf region over visa misuse and illegal entry attempts linked to organized networks.
The government says improved screening stricter checks and closer coordination between immigration and law-enforcement agencies are now in place to stop fraud at departure points.
Officials added that the move is designed to protect Pakistan’s global image while ensuring safe legal and transparent travel for all legitimate passengers.
