The Pakistan Cricket Board has officially announced the player auction date for the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League. For the first time in PSL history teams will build their rosters through a full auction system rather than the traditional draft a move seen as a major step in the league’s evolution.
The auction is scheduled for Wednesday February 11 2026 in Lahore with all eight PSL franchises set to participate. This comes as part of an expanded league format that will see a highly competitive tournament starting on March 26 later this year.
Officials from the PCB team owners and top players recently took part in a workshop at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium where preparations for the auction were discussed. PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf and CEO Salman Naseer highlighted that the new auction model is expected to bring greater balance and excitement to squad building offering teams more flexibility and strategic depth.
Under the auction system foreign stars and emerging local talent will be available across multiple categories and players will be bid on by competing franchises. The player pool includes established international names expected to draw strong interest as well as under-23 prospects poised to make their mark on Pakistan’s biggest T20 stage.
Franchises will also have the chance to set their own retention and spending strategies setting up what many expect to be a high-stakes bidding battle. With increased investment in the league the PSL continues to grow not only as Pakistan’s premier T20 competition but also as one of the most followed franchise leagues globally.
