Pakistan has strongly rejected recent remarks by India’s External Affairs Minister describing them as irresponsible and misleading and accusing New Delhi of attempting to deflect attention from its own actions in the region.

In a statement Pakistan’s Foreign Office said India continues to rely on baseless allegations instead of addressing what Islamabad calls its own role in fueling regional instability and promoting terrorism against neighboring countries.

The statement highlighted what Pakistan describes as documented evidence of Indian involvement in subversive activities including espionage and sabotage inside Pakistan. Officials once again pointed to the case of Indian national Kulbhushan Jadhav as proof of state sponsored terrorism.

Pakistan also accused India of extraterritorial operations targeted killings and the use of proxies to destabilize the region warning that such actions threaten peace and security in South Asia.

Reiterating its position on Jammu and Kashmir Pakistan said the region remains an internationally recognized dispute and condemned what it called India’s illegal military occupation and human rights violations against the Kashmiri people.

The Foreign Office further warned that any attempt by India to unilaterally undermine the Indus Waters Treaty would be a serious breach of international law and could have grave consequences for regional stability.
