Canada has announced a $2.5 billion economic aid package to support Ukraine as it continues to face the devastating impact of nearly four years of war with Russia. Prime Minister Mark Carney made the announcement during a joint appearance with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Halifax highlighting Ottawa’s ongoing commitment to Kyiv’s economic stability and reconstruction efforts.
The funding is aimed at helping Ukraine secure additional financing from the International Monetary Fund and other global lenders providing critical support for government operations infrastructure repair and civilian services disrupted by the conflict.
