Pakistan International Airlines is set to resume direct flights to London from March 2026 marking a major step in the national carrier’s international comeback. The airline plans to operate four weekly flights to London’s Heathrow Airport reconnecting Pakistan with one of its most important overseas destinations.

This comes after a five year suspension of UK operations which had restricted PIA from flying to British airports. Earlier this year the airline restarted services to Manchester signaling the gradual restoration of its long distance routes.

The return of London flights follows significant changes in PIA’s ownership with new investors pledging financial support and operational upgrades. These plans include modernising the fleet and improving services to ensure a more reliable and competitive international operation.

Officials say the resumption of flights will benefit business and leisure travellers strengthen Pakistan–UK ties and provide a boost to tourism and trade. With final regulatory approvals underway PIA is preparing to reestablish its presence on one of the world’s busiest international routes and regain passenger confidence abroad.
