Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that Pakistan delivered an unforgettable lesson to India during last year’s conflict. Speaking at the University of Haripur to launch the PM’s Laptop Scheme 2025 Sharif praised the armed forces for their victory in what he called the “Battle of Truth,” saying India would never forget the defeat.
He recalled that the 87 hour war in May began after an unprovoked Indian attack following the killing of tourists in Indian occupied Kashmir a claim Pakistan denies. During the conflict Pakistani forces downed six fighter jets including three Rafale and dozens of drones before a U.S. brokered ceasefire ended hostilities on May 10.
Sharif also lauded the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for their resilience against terrorism saying their sacrifices restored peace to the country. He announced the expansion of the Laptop Scheme emphasizing that youth are the driving force behind Pakistan’s development.
Touching on the economy the premier said hard work not “witchcraft,” helped the country overcome a critical phase and stressed that progress in all four provinces is key to national growth. He also unveiled plans for Daanish Schools in Haripur with separate campuses for boys and girls and committed to establishing a women’s campus at the university in line with local cultural values.
