India has faced another diplomatic setback as it was left out of the United States led advanced technology alliance Pax Silica fueling criticism that the Modi government is increasingly isolated on the global stage.
The US has launched this strategic coalition to secure critical minerals and advanced technology supply chains an effort aimed at building a resilient and trustworthy global silicon ecosystem. Despite ongoing trade and tech discussions between Washington and New Delhi India was notably excluded raising eyebrows both diplomatically and politically.
Pax Silica’s goal according to the US State Department is to create an innovation driven global supply network for next generation technologies. The initiative spans the full value chain from critical minerals and energy inputs to semiconductors advanced manufacturing AI infrastructure and logistics.
The alliance also seeks to reduce dependence on Chinese dominated supply chains prevent what it calls “coercive dependencies,” and protect essential materials and capabilities crucial for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
For India the exclusion underscores the challenges in navigating global tech and trade partnerships in an increasingly competitive international landscape.
